How to choose the right power

Beginners should not pick only by raw strength. A strong progression pick usually has at least one of three advantages: reliable M1 attacks, safe range, or easy access. If a power is theoretically strong but hard to unlock, save it for later instead of slowing down your first grind.

Damage

Speeds up farming and boss clears, but only if attacks are easy to land.

M1 utility

Lets you keep fighting while skills are on cooldown.

Hitbox

Reliable hitboxes reduce missed attacks, especially for new players.

Cooldown

Shorter cooldowns make a build feel smoother during long grind sessions.

Obtain difficulty

A lower-tier easy unlock can be better than a top-tier power you cannot realistically get yet.

Progression role

Some options are early carries, some are support tools, and some are endgame goals.

Beginner glossary

M1

Your basic attack chain. Beginners should value M1 because it keeps you useful while skills are on cooldown.

Hitbox

How easy an attack is to land. A reliable hitbox often matters more than theoretical damage for new players.

Cooldown

The wait time before a skill can be used again. Shorter cooldowns make farming smoother.

AFK / safe farming

Low-risk grinding with minimal close-range danger, usually helped by long range or simple repeatable attacks.

Progression value

How useful something is while leveling, not just at max level or in perfect endgame builds.

Endgame target

A power or item worth chasing later after your basic farming path is stable.

Beginner-friendly picks and skip list

Good early priorities

Katana, Cursed Fist, Directional Arrows, and Sun Treasure are the safest names to evaluate first because they solve practical beginner problems: basic M1 damage, safe farming range, simple execution, or an easy reward-style path.

Be careful with these

Hollow Voice, Hunter Set, Elf Dagger, and Assassin Axe may be easy to obtain, but community progression notes rate them low for efficient leveling. Use them as fillers or collection items, not as your main long-term plan.
